Allam Durga Prasad

As the strains of the Gottuvadhyam filled NageshwaraRao park on a Saturday, the 21 stDecemmber, 2013 the walkers and other fitness enthusiasts slowly moved towards eAmbalam’s SaMaaGaMa festival’s morning performance. Allam Durga Prasad with his mastery over the instrument kept the select audience online and on-ground glued to the spot with continuous melodies. His elaboration of raagas were steeped in classicism and the resonance of the instrument combined with his artistry was intoxicating. The announcement that he is prepared to teach the Gottuvadhyam free of cost to those interested warmed the hearts of all on ground and those viewing worldwide online.

Dr. Lakshmi Sreeram

Equally adept in Karnatic as well as Hindhusthani music, Dr. Lakshmi’s singing added to the charm of a pleasant Sunday morning in the green environs. Her appropriate selection of Morning Ragas likeAhirBhairav and Jonpuri elicited a lot of appreciation from the listeners gathered there in forSaMaaaGaMa’s morning concert. She was most ably accompanied by senior Harmonium exponent RavindraKatoti and UdayRajkarpur on the Thabla.Overall a beautiful experience presented by eAmbalam for music connoisseurs.
